ECM Records
have just released a
disc dedicated to the music of Estonian composer
Erkki-Sven Tüür, featuring "Ardor" - a concerto
for marimba and orchestra written for and
dedicated to Pedro Carneiro. This marks Carneiro's
first collaboration with the prestigious german
label. "Ardor" is given a powerful rendition in
this recording with Carneiro and the Estonian
National Symphony Orchestra, conducted by Olari
Elts. For information on the CD, please visit the
disc's page at the ECM Records
website. Carneiro's
second collaboration with ECM is scheduled for
November this year, with the recording in Berlin
of Michael Mantler's "Marimba/Vibraphone
Concerto", a work scored for soloist (on marimba
and vibes simultaneously) and chamber orchestra.
